What are the shortcomings of cast steel ball valves?
There are many advantages of cast steel ball valves, such as simple structure, easy operation, good sealing, etc.
But in addition to these advantages, cast steel ball valves also have shortcomings, as follows:
1. Weak sealing
Don’t get me wrong, the sealing performance of cast steel ball valves is good, but if used under high temperature and high pressure conditions, the expansion of the ball will cause the sealing of the valve seat to decrease, so it is easy to leak.
2. Not suitable for high temperature and high pressure occasions
As mentioned above, the applicable pressure and temperature of cast steel ball valves are limited. The applicable temperature is -29℃-200℃, and the applicable pressure is 150LB-600LB.
3. Large space requirements
Cast steel ball valves have certain requirements for the use of space and cannot be used in a small space.
4. It is not easy to control the flow
The flow characteristics of cast steel ball valves are not related to the opening of the ball, and it is not easy to accurately control the flow through the ball valve.
