If you want to use forged steel check valves conveniently, you need to understand these methods!
If you want forged steel check valves to function smoothly instead of constantly malfunctioning, then you need to understand these key steps.
1. Before installation, it is necessary to refer to the instruction manual for comparison
Reverse installation=toilet backflow: The valve body arrow must be consistent with the direction of water flow in the pipeline, and reverse installation directly changes to the “flood discharge outlet”.
The posture should be correct: the lift type must be installed vertically (like planting rice seedlings), and the swing type lying clothes should also ensure that the water flows from bottom to top.
2. Choosing is more selective than finding a partner
Welded valve cover for boiler room: threaded+fully welded combination, no leakage even at 400 ℃, three times more resistant than threaded connection.
Chemical pipelines are selected from sealing: the higher the pressure, the tighter the pressure, and there is no fear of acidic or alkaline media being harsh.
Do not use a lift type for low-temperature liquid nitrogen: the valve disc will freeze into iron lumps, while a swing type with a spring is more resistant to freezing.
3. Operation should be served by an elder
The switch is like petting a cat: turn the manual valve to the bottom and then turn it back half a turn to prevent the thread from biting (refer to the old driver’s method of tightening the fuel tank cap).
Upon hearing the water hammer, quickly investigate: the “clanging” sound indicates that the valve disc is stuck, immediately stop the pump, dismantle the valve, and remove impurities.
Don’t be lazy during pressure testing: When installing a new valve, first apply 1.5 times the working pressure and hold it for 10 minutes without any water droplets before passing the test.
4. Maintenance is comparable to car maintenance
Replace the sealing paste once a year: apply food grade lubricating grease to the valve stem, which can withstand temperatures up to 200 ℃ higher than ordinary butter.
Welding slag is a mortal enemy: after pipeline construction, it is necessary to use magnets to absorb the residue, otherwise the valve disc will turn into a pockmarked face in minutes.
Spare parts should be sourced from wealthy individuals: stock up on 316 stainless steel valve discs and fluororubber sealing rings to be able to provide emergency assistance in critical moments.
