These elements cannot be ignored when installing forged steel gate valves!
When users install forged steel gate valves, there are some details that need to be known in advance to avoid improper installation operations affecting the subsequent user experience.
Let’s take a look at what to pay attention to when installing forged steel gate valves?
1、 Firstly, the position, height, and inlet/outlet direction of the gate valve installation should ensure compliance with design requirements, and the connection should be stable and tight.
2、 The handles of various manual valves installed on insulated pipelines are not allowed to face downwards.
3、 Before installing the valve, it is necessary to inspect the appearance.
1. It is necessary to check whether the nameplate of the valve complies with the current national standard “General Valve Marking” GB 12220.
2. For valves with a working pressure greater than 1.0 MPa and a cut-off function on the main pipeline, corresponding tests (strength and tightness tests) should be conducted before installation. Only after passing the tests can they be used.
Regarding the strength test of valves: During the test, the test pressure is 1.5 times the nominal pressure, and the duration is not less than 5 minutes. If there is no leakage in the valve shell and packing, it is considered qualified.
Valve tightness test: The test pressure is 1.1 times the nominal pressure, and the test pressure should meet the requirements of GB 50243 standard for the duration of the test. If there is no leakage on the sealing surface of the gate, it is considered qualified.
The above are the installation precautions for forged steel gate valves.
