How to deal with butterfly valve malfunction alarm?
When a butterfly valve malfunctions and alarms, corresponding measures should be taken according to the specific type of malfunction.
The common faults and solutions are shared as follows:
1. Electrical malfunction
Power supply issues (unstable voltage, poor line contact) can cause the valve to fail to operate. It is necessary to check whether the power supply voltage is within the rated range (such as 380V ± 10%) and use a multimeter to check the continuity of the line. When the control signal is abnormal, it is necessary to check whether the signal line is interfered or broken, and whether the solenoid valve coil is burned. Limit switch malfunction may cause false alarms, and its position needs to be adjusted or damaged components need to be replaced.
2. Mechanical failure
Butterfly card blockage is usually caused by foreign objects or scaling, and the valve chamber needs to be cleaned after closing the upstream and downstream valves. Wear of transmission components (such as gears and valve stems) can cause slow movement and require lubrication or replacement of worn parts. If there is a leakage on the sealing surface, check whether the butterfly plate is deformed. Minor damage can be repaired by grinding, and if severe, replace the sealing ring or valve plate.
3. Emergency response
When the fire signal butterfly valve alarms, it is necessary to ensure that the valve is in the open state before resetting the host. Micro switch false alarm can be detected by a multimeter for contact continuity. If there is poor contact, the position of the fixing screw needs to be adjusted. In emergency situations, the valve can be manually operated, but the power supply must be cut off first.
4. Preventive measures
Clean the pipeline welding slag before installation to prevent foreign objects from entering the valve body. Regularly lubricate the valve stem and bearings (every 3-6 months), and check the aging of the sealing ring. Fluorine rubber seals should be selected for high temperature or corrosive medium environments, and inspection frequency should be increased.
